
The 'alleged' racketeers took money from the candidates on the promise of getting them certificate. Police have arrested one person and search is on to nab the other racketeers.
Around 5 lakh candidates had taken to HTET across the state on Saturday and Sunday, which is mandatory in applying for the recruitment of government teachers in Haryana.
On information given by a police informer, police started operation to nab the racketeers active in Mahendragarh locality here. A woman police constable posed as a candidate and talked to them over phone. Satpal Sherda of Kaithal agreed to take money from the prospective candidate to get her certificate.
Satpal demanded Rs 2 lakh fro her and gave number of another person Rajesh for further communication on the matter. Later, Rajesh demanded the amount and the police posing as a candidate easily held him. Others--Satpal, Devendra, Surendra, Roshanlala, Rakesh, Dharmendra are absconding.
