Haryana Agricultural University to Organise Farm Darshan Mela

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU), Hisar will organise a two-day Farm Darshan Mela on September 21 and 22.

Stating this today, Dr J S Dhankhar, HAU Director of Extension Education and Coordinator of the mela, said that this year the prime focus in the mela would be on achieving high crop productivity.

The visiting farmers would be acquainted with the new farm technologies which were not only helpful in increasing production of crops but were also cost effective and helpful in conserving natural resources as well.

He said that quality seed of rabi crops would also be made available to the farmers on this occasion. For the convenience of the farmers, counters would be set up where they could purchase the seeds of rabi crops as recommended by the university.

Farm literature and bio-fertilisers would also be available at the stalls.

Dr Dhankhar said that the visiting farmers would be shown the bumper rabi crops raised by the scientists at the research farm of the university.

Arrangements would be made for testing the samples of field soils, water and diseased plants brought by the farmers. On both the days, interactive sessions would also be held to give opportunity to the farmers to interact with the varsity scientists and find solution to their farming related problems, he added.

Vice-Chancellor K S Khokhar would inaugurate the mela.
