Cash Prizes up to Rs 5 Lakh For Clean Schools in Haryana

Government schools maintaining cleanliness in their campuses can now grab cash prizes up to Rs 5 lakh. Under a new scheme initiated by the state government to promote cleanliness, a cash award of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the school coming first in the entire state in the matter of sanitation.

The prizes will be given separately to senior secondary schools, high schools, middle schools and primary schools, respectively. The schools achieving this feat at the district level will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh while those topping their block will get Rs 50,000.

Yudhbir Singh Khyalia, DC, said the state government would spend Rs 3.42 crore on this scheme, while Rs 18 lakh would be spent in Sirsa district under this scheme.
