Admission notice for admission to M Ed (Master of Education) One year programme

Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into one year M Ed (Master of Education) programme, to be offered in the upcoming academic session 2011-12. The course is being offered in the Department of Education and Colleges of Education affiliated to Kurukshetra University running M Ed under SFS for the session 2011-12. Admission will be made through entrance test, to be conducted by the University.

Course Offered: M Ed (Master of Education) One year programme

Eligibility: B.Ed./B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed. Examination with 45% marks and minimum pass marks for SC/ST Candidates

How to Apply: Interested candidates may obtain the prospectus containing details and admission form in person, from the Counter, KU, Kurukshetra by remitting a sum of Rs 600 (Rs 150 for SC/BC/Blind candidates of Haryana). One can get the same through post by sending requisition along with a DD (drawn in favour of Registrar, KU payable at Kurukshetra) of Rs 650 (Rs 200 for SC/BC/Blind candidates of Haryana). Prospectus and admission form can also be downloaded from University’s official website: http://kuk.ac.in/.

However, in that case, Rs 600 (Rs 150 for SC/BC/Blind candidates of Haryana) are required to be deposited by the candidate in any CBS Branch of Punjab National Bank in India or sent DD in favour of Registrar, KU with the downloaded application form. The duly filled in and completed application form should be submitted in the office of the Chairperson, Department of Education, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, latest by November 18, 2011. For more information regarding admission, eligibility criteria and application procedure, candidates are requested to visit the University’s abovementioned official website.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (often abbreviated as NIOS, NOS or National Open School), is the Board of Education for open schools in India. It was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India in 1989 to provide education inexpensively to remote areas. The NIOS is a national board that administers examinations for Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations of open schools similar to the CBSE and the CISCE.

The academic programmes of NIOS is offered using three tier structural system i.e (i) its Head
Quarter at NOIDA, NCT of Delhi, (ii) implementing programmes through its 14 Regional Centres located at various states and (iii) support services through the partner institutions known as Accredited Institutions (study centres) mostly located in the educational institutions in the country. The institute has introduced on-line admission system to its Secondary and Sr.
Secondary courses round the year with two blocks 1st March to 31st August & 1st Sept. to 28th
Feb. The students seeking admission to the NIOS courses can opt for three alternatives for on-line admission (i) on-line admission by self (ii) with the help of NIOS Accredited Institutions, and (iii) with the help of Regional Centres of NIOS. The list of authorized NIOS accredited Institutions for each state and districts, and list of NIOS Regional Centres alongwith prospectus & application form for 2010- 11 are available on the NIOS website www.nios.ac.in . The aspiring students are advised through this Public Notice not to approach the unauthorized centres/ individuals to seek help for their admissions. The NIOS will not be held responsible, if they fell pray through these unauthorized centres/ agents/individuals and their admission process is not completed due to this act.

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has introduced 100% On-line admission Session Stream-1 (2011-12) Block-II for October 2012 Examination. Under this scheme learners have the options to
  • Register themselves On-line directly
  • may visit their nearest Accredited Institution (AI) (study centre)/Facilitation Centre and take their help for On-line registration.
  • may visit their Regional Centre for on line-registration.
Admission for October, 2012 Examination: Online Admission for all learners 2011-12(Block-II) for October 2012 Examination - This stream for online Admission is open for new Learners for October 2012 Examination as per the laid down eligibility criteria for Secondary & Sr. Secondary Levels. These Learners will be eligible to appear in Public Examination first time in October 2012.

  • The candidate should bring all the original certificates of classes 10th & 10+2 with the proof of having English passed as one of the subject, two passport size photos, photocopy of application form and all other relevant documents as mentioned in prospectus with photocopies of each.

  • In case of any dispute, the decision of the counselling committee will be final.

This paper will consist of 50 objective type questions of 1 mark each related to basics of the prescribed syllabus for Ph.D. Entrance Test (Management). Time allotted for this paper will be 1 hour (11.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon).
Paper-II
Subjective Paper: 100 Marks
This paper will consist of 12 subjective questions. The candidates will be required to attempt any 8 questions. Each question shall carry equal marks. Time allotted for the second paper will be 2 hours (02.00 P.M. to 04.00 P.M.).

NCERT International Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling (2012)


NCERT is offering an International Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling. The course of one-year duration with a unique blend of distance/online and face-to-face Modes is open to candidates from India, other SAARC and Afro-Asian countries. Candidates from different regions of India will be admitted on regional basis at DEPFE, NIE, New Delhi and Regional Institutes of Education. Applications are invited for admission to the course in the prescribed format from the eligible candidates.
Target group: In-service teachers / teacher educators / untrained guidance personnel/ school administrators
Eligibility:
  • In-service teachers – graduates with teaching degree.
  • Candidates ‘presently not working’ – graduation with teaching degree and at least two years of teaching or related experience.
  • Postgraduates in psychology/education/social work/child development/special education. Preference will be given to those with at least one year of teaching or related experience.
  • Candidates from outside India who are not graduates but have teaching degree are required to have three years of work experience in the relevant area.
Minimum % of marks for all target groups is 50% (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
No. of seats: Maximum 50 per study centre. Distribution of seats will be Govt. deputed candidates 50%, private candidates 20% and candidates from outside India 30%. Reservation apply as per Government of India norms.
Duration and phasing: One year, from January to December
  • Guided Self-Learning: Six Months (Distance/ Online)
  • Intensive Practicum: Three Months (Face-to-Face)
  • Internship:Three Months (in Home Town)
Admission procedure: Screening of candidates will be done by a committee following a selection criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be called at the study centre in their region for selection test which includes essay writing and interview. No TA/DA will be given for traveling to the study centre to attend the selection process.
Course fee: Course fee to be paid by different categories of candidates is :
Indian Candidates:
  • Government deputed: Rs. 3000/-
    (One time TA to attend the face-to-face contact programme for non-local Government deputed will be admissible as per Council’s norms).
  • Private candidates: Rs. 10,000/-
Candidates from outside India: $ 500
The expenditure for board and lodging during contact programme will have to be borne by the candidates. However, facilities for the same will be available.
